“Narcos” Season 3 is returning to the small screen soon, and fans can expect drugs and drug lords in the new season.

For months, it has been rumored that “Narcos” Season 3 will focus on the cocaine industry. The team behind the Netflix series confirmed this with a new clip on the show’s official Twitter account featuring the growth of the cocaine business. The 34-second video previews how cocaine is manufactured and packed in factories. “It was Cocaine Inc. and they ran it like it was a Fortune 500 company. #Narcos,” the caption read.

In the official teaser, DEA agent Javier Pena (Pedro Pascal) confirmed the growth of this business. “Cocaine cartels are about succession,” Pena said. “While the whole world was focused on Escobar, Cali became the biggest cocaine cartel in the history. To pretend that these guys weren’t just as evil as the guy that came before them that’s a mistake.”

The synopsis for Season 3 of the Netflix series revealed that things will be more complicated in “Narcos” as the new kingpins are more dangerous than Pablo (Wagner Moura). They also operate differently compared to the first Colombian drug lord. “In a post-Pablo Escobar world, those final words spoken in the last season of the Netflix original series Narcos foreshadow the upcoming season’s pivot into the corrupt, powerful and wildly profitable world of Colombia’s Cali Cartel — the biggest drug lords you’ve probably never heard of. Now that the bloody hunt for Pablo Escobar has ended, the DEA turns its attention to the richest drug trafficking organization in the world: the Cali Cartel. Led by four powerful godfathers, this cartel operates much differently than Escobar’s, preferring to bribe government officials and keep its violent actions out of the headlines,” read the Season 3 synopsis.

Meanwhile, in addition to Pablo Escobar, who was killed off in Season 2, viewers will not see Agent Steve Murphy (Boyd Holbrook) in the upcoming season. The DEA agent was tasked to bring down Pablo. But since the kingpin died last season, Holbrook won’t be returning for the show’s third run as well. This is the reason the actor was missing in the official teaser released by Netflix for “Narcos” Season 3.

“Narcos” Season 3 will premiere on Netflix on Sept. 1.
