Narrowing current account surplus in Japan

Japan's current account surplus narrowed to 900.8 billion in December compared with a previous surplus of 1103.0 billion yen, while it came less than analysts' estimates of 1011.7 billion yen. The adjusted current account surplus came at 1100.5 billion yen following a surplus of 1304.8 billion yen, and the forecasted surplus was 1250.0 billion yen.

On the other hand, the nation's trade balance (BOP Basis) showed a surplus of 631.2 from 490.6 billion yen, and it came less than market projections of 669.4 billion yen.
