Nasdaq falls on tech, consumer discretionary
The Nasdaq fell on Monday as consumer discretionary and technology companies' shares slid and investors' concerns remain about weakness in the economy.
The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> gained 9.46 points, or 0.08 percent, to 12,605.21. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> dropped 0.72 point, or 0.05 percent, to 1,337.05. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> dropped 23.12 points, or 0.82 percent, to 2,805.35.
