“Nashville” Season 3 Episode 6 was packed with family drama. Rayna (Connie Britton) and Luke’s (Will Chase) relationship was tested by Country Music Award nominations. Maddie (Lennon Stella) kissed her soon-to-be stepbrother Colt (Keenan Johnson) during an unsupervised house party that brought their parents back to Nashville. Gunnar (Sam Palladio) bonded with his son and convinced Kylie (Alexa PenaVega) to stay in town, but Juliette’s (Hayden Panettiere) new family caused the most drama. She had to figure out if Avery (Jonathan Jackson) wanted to be a father.

After her collapse in episode 5, Juliette was sent straight to the hospital. She and the baby are fine, but she has a condition that makes her prone to blood clots. Her doctor told her that she had to cancel her tour because travel was too much stress on her body. She was allowed to go back to Nashville and finish her movie, but that was it.

Juliette had a few visitors while she was in the hospital. Zoe (Chaley Rose) told Avery about Juliette’s collapse and he drove all night to get to her. However Avery’s kindness left the room as soon as Noah (Derek Hough) entered. He stormed out of the room and assumed that Juliette had moved on with Noah—but Noah didn’t mind that. In fact, the movie star wanted to be there for Juliette.

“You don’t have to go through this alone,” Noah said.

Juliette appreciated his kindness, but she wasn’t interested in dating her co-star. She needed to figure out her relationship with Avery first.

Juliette found Avery in Zoe’s hotel room. She took the opportunity to fire Zoe for taking the stage after Juliette’s collapse and then kicked her out of her own hotel room to talk to Avery. Juliette wanted some answers.

“Did you drive all night for me or for the baby?” she asked.

If Avery wanted to be in her life again, he had the opportunity, but he had to make a choice. He had to either forgive Juliette and be with her and the baby or stay out of her life.

Avery decided that he would be the father no matter what. He forgave Juliette for cheating, but he told her he couldn’t trust her. They couldn’t get back together, but he would be a father to their child. She couldn’t control that.

With Avery on board as the father, it seems that Juliette has completely given up on the idea of adoption. She went to the press to give a statement on her hospitalization. She shocked them with the news of her pregnancy and then said that she was finishing the movie and cutting off her tour. Only one reporter got a question in: Who is the father? She revealed to the press that Avery was the father of her baby.

“Nashville” airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m. EDT on ABC. How do you think Avery will feel about Juliette telling the press that he is the father? Sound off in the comments section below!
