“Nashville” Season 3 unleashed plenty of shockers in the season premiere, but the drama never stops in Music City. Rayna (Connie Britton) accepted Luke’s (Will Chase) proposal, but she can’t start planning her wedding just yet. First she has to make sure her record is a hit while Juliette (Hayden Panettiere) has to compete for her movie role and deal with her pregnancy. It sounds like “Nashville” Season 3 episode 2 will force the country stars to overcome some rough competition, according to the latest episode synopsis.

Rayna’s album will not debut at number 1, despite her best efforts. Will’s (Chris Carmack) debut album will take the number one slot, which makes the veteran country singer go into overdrive with promotional efforts. She has to prove that this album and her record label are successful. She'll makes an appearance on “Good Morning America,” where Luke Bryan surprises her.

Despite Will’s success, Layla (Aubrey Peebles) isn’t happy. Edgehill has basically dumped her, and she wants Will to help revive her career. Her husband’s success will only increase the tension between the two. In the “Nashville” Season 3 premiere, the two wanted a divorce after Will admitted he was gay, but their reality show producer blackmailed them with footage of the country crooner coming out.

Meanwhile, Juliette will have to handle a lot of stress. Her pregnancy is going to turn her life upside down, but she still wants to continue auditions for the Patsy Cline biopic. She’ll find herself facing some “familiar competition” at her screen test. Rayna is definitely too busy to audition for the movie, but Juliette might know Sadie Stone (Laura Benanti). Episode 2 is supposed to be Sadie’s introduction to “Nashville,” but Juliette may have run into the singer before.

As Juliette deals with news of impending parenthood, Deacon (Charles Esten) will deal with his newfound fatherhood. Maddie (Lennon Stella) is going to start acting out, and he’ll have to start being a little more disciplinary than he has previously been with his daughter.

Deacon’s niece, Scarlett (Clare Bowen), will be moving back in and writing songs again. She’ll be working with Gunnar (Sam Palladio), but Zoey (Chaley Rose) might have a few issues with that. She wasn’t particularly happy about their impromptu road trip together, and their renewed working relationship will make her even more uncomfortable.
