“Nashville” Season 3 may have taken the night off for the actual Country Music Association Awards earlier this month, but it's holding its own CMAs in episode 8. Obviously, a dramatic night for the country stars is in store. Juliette (Hayden Panettiere) and Avery (Jonathan Jackson) are still on speaking terms, but that might not last. Plus, Rayna (Connie Britton) and Luke (Will Chase) might be hitting a rough patch, according to the synopsis for “Nashville” Season 3, episode 8, titled “You’re Lookin’ at Country.”

Luke and Rayna might be feeling a bit competitive as they are both up for the Entertainer of the Year award, but their night could be ruined before it even begins. Rayna “stumbles upon Luke’s prenuptial agreement documents,” according to the synopsis, and she might be irritated by the legal agreement.

Avery and Juliette are in for a little family drama as well in episode 8. Avery’s parents are in Nashville to support their son during the CMA Awards. “What should be a lovely reunion takes a turn when Avery introduces them to Juliette,” the synopsis teases. In the last episode, Avery decided to be involved in Juliette’s life and support her throughout her pregnancy, but could his parents come between them?

Gunnar (Sam Palladio) and Zoe (Chaley Rose) have their own issues to overcome as parents. Zoe wasn’t dealing well with Gunnar’s newly discovered son, Micah (Gunnar Sizemore), and that was when they were only taking care of him part-time. Now that Kylie (Alexa PenaVega) has left Nashville to be with her boyfriend, Gunnar is a full-time dad. “Their relationship will be tested,” the synopsis teases, but they might not pass the test.

Scarlett (Clare Bowen) and Deacon (Charles Esten) will be staying out of the spotlight, as usual. They’ll be watching the CMA Awards from home this year, but plenty of others will be attending the ceremony. Real-life country stars Trisha Yearwood, the Band Perry, and Joe Nichols will guest-star in the episode.
