Alabama and Notre Dame are just two of the many teams waiting to hear from recruits. Reuters

Today is college football’s national signing day, and high school seniors across the country are deciding which program to join. Several top prospects remain uncommitted, and coaches are waiting by fax machines to see where their incoming freshmen class will stack up.

Prior to signing day, nine of ESPN’s top 300 recruits remained unsigned. Today marks the last day a recruit can make a final decision to attend a program or switch a commitment from one university to another. The day has become a spectacle, and ESPNU will televise top recruits’ commitments and formal announcements throughout the day, along with streaming events at WatchESPN.

Some of the top prospects still undecided include cornerback Iman Marshall (No. 4 ESPN/No. 7 Scout), offensive tackle Martez Ivey (No. 5 ESPN/No. 3 Scout), defensive tackle Daylon Mack (No. 6 ESPN/No. 11 Scout), defensive end CeCe Jefferson (No. 9 ESPN/No. 13 Scout) and wide receiver DaMarkus Lodge (No. 57 ESPN/No. 21 Scout).

The SEC, once again, has dominated the recruiting game so far. Per Scout.com’s latest rankings the conference has the top three classes in Alabama, Auburn and Tennessee. The SEC has raked in 47 more players in ESPN’s top 150 than any other conference, according to ESPN’s Brett Edgerton. The SEC has already locked 69 players in the top 150, while the Big Ten is second with 22.

This morning ESPN’s top-rated player defensive end Byron Cowart chose Auburn. Defensive lineman Terry Beckner Jr., ESPN’s No.2 recruit, then chose to attend Missouri. Soon there will be even more answers.

Throughout the day International Business Times will track recruits decisions below.
