National S'mores Day 2016: After Girl Scouts Announce New Cookie, Here Are 10 Recipes (No Campfire Required)

Happy National S’mores Day!

What better time – if not the national holiday celebrating s’mores – to enjoy the camping treat, which traditionally consists of fire-roasted chocolate and marshmallow smooshed between two crispy graham cracker cookies.

Twitter users have been sharing their support of the coveted chocolate-marshmallow-cookie inspired holiday with the trending hashtag #SmoresFun, and Girl Scouts may have just gave them another reason to celebrate.

The youth organization recently unveiled their plans to roll out a new type of Girl Scouts cookie, Girl Scout S’mores, which will surly fly off shelves just as quickly as their other beloved Girl Scout brands like Thin Mints, Caramel deLites and Samoas.

The new Girl Scout S’Mores will come in two different varieties: A crispy graham cookie double dipped in a crème icing and covered in a chocolate coating and a thicker, crunchier graham sandwich cookie with chocolate and marshmallow filling.

The new cookie will be the latest cookie added to the Girl Scout Cookie lineup since 2015 and will be sold at various grocery stores throughout the U.S.

However, Girl Scout’s newest cookie isn’t the only way to enjoy a s’more without a campfire on National S’mores Day.

Over the years bakers and food enthusiasts have come up with an array of different ways to indulge in the chocolatey, gooey goodness of a s’more, some of which may even require a spoon, fork, knife or even a straw.
