Today is National Taco Day, and depending on where in America you are this Thursday you can take part in the celebration by digging in to a delicious taco for free.

Pollo Campero, a Houston-area establishment dishing up Latin American favorites at three locations, is giving away free tacos at its restaurants in Houston, Webster and Missouri City, KHOU reported.

Taco Bueno is also getting in on the free taco deals, dishing up the offer to its Facebook fans. The franchise had locations in Arkansas, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas. You can find your nearest Taco Bueno here.

Fuzzy’s Taco Shop is offering up $1 tacos, according to the restaurant’s Facebook page. Fajita tacos are excluded from the deal. Find your nearest Fuzzy’s here.

Lime Fresh Mexican Grill, a chain restaurant with locations in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, North Carolina and Washington, D.C., has its own special for National Taco Day. The chain is offering two original tacos, chips and a soft drink for $4.99, as per this Facebook post. Use the Lime Fresh Mexican Grill locator to find the location nearest you.

Perhaps the most nationally recognized taco chain, Taco Bell, appears to not be participating in the celebration. There’s no offers on its Facebook page and the company’s Twitter account has not mentioned National Taco Day.

National Taco Day is one of those informal occasions that spread like wildfire through the use of social media.

Twitter users took to their account to proclaim their love for the unofficial national holiday.

“Remember, today may be National Taco Day, but if you let tacos into your heart as I have, EVERY DAY CAN BE NATIONAL TACO DAY,” wrote Ryan Penagos.

“HAPPY NATIONAL TACO DAY to all the decent people out there who kno whats up...,” wrote @BigGhostFASE.

“It's National Taco Day, gang. Eat tacos with those people who are most important to you,” wrote @RyanLostinTX. “Remember all the tacos you've enjoyed in the past.”
