  • Lakers, Grizzlies resume action on Friday
  • Lakers are double-digit favorites at home
  • Grizzlies will play back-to-back games at Staples

The Los Angeles Lakers went on a rampage before heading into the All-Star break. Action resumes on Friday as they are set to host the Memphis Grizzlies inside the Staples Center looking to score their seventh win in eight games. The Lakers were able to withstand a subpar showing in January, atoning for the mishaps this month to stay at the top of the Western Conference. The Grizzlies were tripped in their first game after the break, but it was not indicative of how they really fared over their last 10 games, winning seven of them to establish enough cushion at the eighth spot in the West.

Los Angeles Lakers

The Lakers, who are 18-7 inside the Staples, will gun to extend their winning streak to four games. They have built enough buffer to protect their seat at the top of the conference with four games separating them from the Denver Nuggets. They have the Grizzlies’ number this year, winning both of their last two meetings albeit on two different fashions. A 29-point romp in favor of the Lakers was pulled off the last time they crossed paths in LA while the Grizzlies pushed them down the edge before escaping with a one-point win in Memphis.

Memphis Grizzlies

The Grizzlies continue their four-game road trip bridging from a 129-125 loss to the Kings in Sacramento last night. They will stay in Los Angles after Friday’s game as they are scheduled to meet the Clippers next, still at the Staples Center.
