The Golden State Warriors are enjoying the fruits of their Championship labor, especially after beating a tough team in the LeBron James-led Cleveland Cavaliers. One might assume that all the Warriors players are content and prepared to return next season for another stab at the NBA title. But if NBA rumors are to be believed, that's not the case for the team’s former Finals MVP Andre Iguodala.

Mercury News reported Friday that the Warriors and Iguodala were hashing out details of a multi-year contract worth $8-12 million annually. That just might not be enough for the all-star guard.

According to sources Monday, the 2015 NBA Finals MVP is looking to possibly take his talents elsewhere. Iguodala has spent four seasons with the Warriors. He earned about $11.1 million this year and has contributed to the team as a leader on the court and in the locker room. He is a premier defender and sometimes a playmaker for his team.

A slew of teams will look to pry the veteran forward from his championship group. According to Yahoo! Sports Monday, besides the Warriors, those teams included the Atlanta Hawks, Chicago Bulls, Utah Jazz, Minnesota Timberwolves and Los Angeles Clippers. His value could land him a contract of upwards of $20 million a year.

Iguodala has been nothing but an asset to his team, as he was an important player throughout the Warriors' championship run. During the Game 5 2017 NBA Finals triumph over James and the Cleveland Cavaliers, Iguodala scored 20 points, recorded four rebounds and had three assists. The star forward still has some gas left in his tank and can contribute valuable minutes to the Warriors if he stays healthy.

Iguodala’s NBA resume is solid. He attended the University of Arizona and went on to be selected as the 9th overall pick in the first round by the Philadelphia 76ers in 2004. He played with the team until 2012. He left and played with the Denver Nuggets for one year and then got picked up by the Golden State Warriors in 2013. Iguodala is a two-time NBA champion once in 2015 and in 2017. He earned an NBA Finals MVP in 2015 and even made an NBA All-Star appearance in 2012.

Off the court, the NBA star has accomplished a few notable deeds. He was named one of the “Good Guys of 2006” by the Sporting News because he started the Andre Iguodala Disaster Relief Fund. The foundation raised funds for tornado victims who lived in his hometown of Springfield, Illinois. He also started the Andre Iguodala Youth Foundation which used sports to help children who were less fortunate.

The foundation ran basketball camps and funded the yearly "Thanksgiving with Dre," which circulated food baskets to less fortunate families. He is as valuable off the court as he is on the court.

In an interview, Iguodala was asked about his role off the bench and how he contributes to his team.

“You have to embrace it,” he said. “It’s really just sacrificing to make sure everybody else is eating. But then you want to look for yourself sometimes. Like, you want to show people what you can do.”
