NBC Universal said on Monday it expanded the job of three executives and divided the responsibilities held by its previous integrated media president who will return to General Electric.

Beth Comstock is returning to General Electric Co, the majority owner of NBC Universal and is assuming the new role of senior vice president and chief marketing officer, the company said on Monday. Comstock held the position before she was sent to NBC in 2005.

Salil Mehta, president of business operations, strategy and development, will assume oversight of NBC Universal's digital media team upon Comstock's departure.

Mike Pilot, president of sales and marketing, will add responsibility for the research department. Jeff Gaspin, president and COO of the television group, will take on interim responsibility for iVillage.

Gaspin will also oversee the virtual women's network, which will include Bravo Media, Oxygen Media and iVillage.
