Tokyo-based NEC Corporation and F5 Networks Japan K.K on Monday said it will offer an optimized power-saving platform for SAP systems that cuts power consumption by 62 percent.

Its features simplified operation to eliminate time-consuming mistakes by making configuration changes autonomous, said NEC’s President & Representative Director, Kaoru Yano and F5 Country Manager, Tadao Nagasaki during the conducted joint verification.

The companies' solution has simultaneously achieved the seemingly conflicting goals of strong processing power and reduced energy consumption in the SAP ERP platform in heterogeneous environments,” said Garrett Ilg, CEO, SAP Japan Co.

It can also share possible resources between systems for which peak load times differ, which enables optimization of the number of servers in the data center.

The said verification test result will be presented at SAP Japan Co., Ltd.'s joint verification center, COIL Tokyo seminar, and it will continue to develop optimal SAP systems and offer solutions that contribute to energy efficiency and simplification of operations for businesses.
