What can consumers expect to get with the Redmi Earbuds S at that low price? Here's what the company behind it promises:

12-hour battery life

The Redmi Earbuds S boasts of up to 12 hours total playback time including the charging case. This translates to 4 hours on the earbuds plus three charges using the case. Not bad for a cheap pair of wireless earbuds

IPX4 rating

This affordable pair of earbuds have an IPX4 rating for splash and sweat resistance. This means it can be worn while in the gym, running, exercising, or walking under the rain.

Low Latency Gaming Mode

Redmi says the Earbuds S can reduce latency to 122ms, which is perfect for when playing mobile games with a smartphone. Gamers know that any lag in sound can mean victory or defeat, which means this feature can help.

Environmental Noise Cancellation

Unlike the AirPods Pro or Sony WF-1000XM3, the Redmi Earbuds S only offers DSP Environmental Noise Cancellation. This works “by suppressing ambient noise to make your voice clearer on the receiving side,” Redmi said.

Mono or Stereo Pairing

The device comes with a single & dual earbuds function that allows users to listen to music or take calls regardless whether they are using just one or two earbuds.

The catch?

Now, what's the catch? The Redmi Earbuds S are only sold in India for ₹1,799. A review from the Financial Express also noted that the Earbuds S are but a “rehashed version” of the Airdots S sold in China.
