NeNe Leakes makes a comeback in season 8 of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” and even managed to surprise the cast with an unannounced visit.

Leakes surprised the RHOA family when she arrived unannounced in Jamaica during a cast retreat, Entertainment Tonight (ET) reported. A source from the show’s production team told ET, "Everything went down last night. We’re still here shooting."

The production insider also shared that only a select number of production team members knew about Leakes’ return to the show. The reality TV star has also filmed a few scenes in Atlanta, said the source, but none of the actresses knew about it. "She’s not back full time but we’re trying to get as many episodes with her as possible,” the source said. “It was fun seeing all the girls surprised when she showed up in Jamaica!"

Leakes is set to appear in the upcoming season of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” as confirmed by E!News. The reality star will be making several appearances in season 8, however the number is still undetermined. Leakes is not the only one returning to the reality show. Sheree Whitfield and Shamea Morton will also be appearing in this season’s RHOA.

Meanwhile, according to TMZ sources, RHOA producers contacted Leakes earlier this month and asked her to return to the Bravo series. The source even said that they pleaded with the star to come back since the storylines lacked excitement. Leakes decided to accept the offer because it didn’t conflict with her other projects and the price was right, TMZ reported.

Four months ago, fans were surprised when Leakes announced that she won’t be joining season 8 of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.” The reality star made the announcement through Instagram where she also thanked fans for watching RHOA and for their support. She wrote that it was a “hard” decision, but she “decided to step out on faith and not fear.”

Season 8 of "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" is set to premiere on Nov. 8 on Bravo.
