NES Classic Edition sold out
The console has sold out at leading retailers. Nintendo

The NES Classic Edition might be Nintendo’s most successful gaming console till date. It has better sales numbers than other consoles such as Nintendo Wii. The console, which was launched on Nov. 11, has been sold out on Amazon, Best Buy and Walmart.

Among big retailers, Target is still selling the console, but only in its brick-and-mortar stores. Owing to high demand, it is necessary for customers to look out for places to buy the console, which is where Meijer and B&H Photo Video come in.

Meijer tweeted Wednesday that it would be selling NES Classic Edition in “limited quantities,” while B&H Photo Video will start selling the Classic Friday morning.

In terms of purchasing a NES Classic Edition gaming console, physical stores seem to be the better bet compared to online ones, which have mostly run out of stock.

The NES Classic Edition might become the highest selling gaming console of 2016, if the trend continues. NPD group projected that Nintendo had sold 196,000 gaming consoles in November alone. Since the device launched on Nov. 11, this means that it sold those numbers in just 19 days.

Nintendo is expected to generate good sales of the Classic in the holiday season, if it can make stocks available in time, the possibility of which seems bleak now.
