Video rental company Netflix Inc reported higher fourth-quarter revenue as the company added U.S. subscribers.

Netflix on Wednesday posted fourth-quarter revenue of $876 million, up 47 percent from $596 million a year earlier.

Shares rose 12 percent to $106 in after-hours trading following the earnings report. They had ended at $95.04, up 2.6 percent, in the regular session on Nasdaq.
