Following the accidental leak of the latest “Divergent” novel this week, the author of the best-selling young-adult book series, Veronica Roth, is asking fans of the trilogy to be "allegiant" and not post spoilers online.

According to a report from Hypable, the third book in the dystopian adventure series, “Allegiant,” was accidentally shipped to Canadian readers a few weeks before the book's official drop date. “I found out earlier today that a very small number of readers received finished copies of 'Allegiant' already, instead of on October 22, due to a Canadian shipping error that has since been fixed,” said Roth on her Tumblr account Wednesday. “I’m disappointed, and I’m sure you are too… But accidents and errors just happen sometimes,” she added.

Addressing the book's premature release, Roth is asking those who have a copy to keep spoilers off the Web. “If you are one of the people who received 'Allegiant' early, I would love it if you wanted to wait to read it until October 22nd alongside your fellow Initiates. However, I can’t blame you if that’s just not going to work for you,” said Roth, adding, “I do ask, no matter what you decide, that out of kindness and respect for your fellow 'Divergent' readers and their reading experiences, you do not post spoilers or quotes anywhere. I know I can count on you to preserve the mystery with me — I may be biased, but I think I have the best readers ever.”

Publisher Harper Collins released a statement following the leak of “Allegiant,” which follows the journey of a young girl named Tris on a mission to explore the world beyond her five-factioned society, confirming the book was accidentally released early by an unidentified Canadian-based distributor.

The feature film adaption of the first book of the series “Divergent” will be released in theaters on March 21. The first trailer for the highly-anticipated film, starring actors Shailene Woodley ("The Spectacular Now") as Tris, Theo James ("Underworld: Awakening") as Four and Kate Winslet (“Titanic”) as leader Jeanine Matthews, was released at the MTV Video Music Awards in August. Filmmakers released the first official movie posters for the film Monday.
