A new trailer for DmC, the Devil May Cry reboot, released Nov. 2 and was spectacularly creepy, in typical Japanese fashion.

The new game is set in a twisted contemporary backdrop. The game marks a reboot of the franchise with a more real-world and darker edge to the game. But nothing is as it seems as Dante says there are demons everywhere...

Check out the video, posted by Destructoid, but be warned, it features a bad word:

Capcom is now teaming up with Ninja Theory for the new game. The UK-based developer was behind the early PlayStation 3 hit, Heavenly Sword. It's hard to imagine the Devil May Cry series becoming any darker than previous installments, but the proof seems to be in the pudding. Of course, never-before-seen weapons, powers and combos will be added into the game.

Devil May Cry was released in 2001 on the PlayStation 2, and the decade distance from the original release date may make a few gamers feel pretty old. The game was known for its mix of sword and gun play along with its brash protagonist Dante.

This 'Devil May Cry DNA' remains but is now injected with a dark and brutal gameplay that promises to redefine the franchise, The Capcom media site says.

No word when the game will release, but it will be out sometime in 2012. It will be on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 when it does come out.
