Careful scrutiny of posted screenshots in Apple's iOS 5 software development kit suggests the resolution for the next iPad will be Retina Display, Apple's term for resolution high enough to be indistinguishable from life for the human eye, reports the TechUnwrapped blog.

As I was going through the iOS SDK I came across some images in the new Twitter .framework. The resolution appears to be 1,536 x 2,048, a poster at the blog states. The current resolution on iPads is 1024 x 768.

Scheduled for release this fall, iOS 5 is the new operating system for Apple mobile devices.
