Peter Gunz (l) cheats on the mother of his kids with Amina (r) during the season premiere VH1

The fourth season of Mona Scott-Young's reality series “Love & Hip Hop New York” premiered last night, and fans could not help but comment on the similarities between new character Peter Gunz and hip-hop producer Stevie J, who became one of the most popular cast members on the Atlanta version of the show, primarily due to his love triangle with the mother of his daughter, Mimi Faust, and artist Joseline Hernandez.

She and Stevie J now claim to be legally married.

Similarly, Gunz, who is also a producer, has been dating the mother of his two children, Tara Wallace, for more than 10 years, but has a relationship with his artist Amina Buddafly. He has been lying to Wallace about the extent of his relationship with Buddafly, who also claimed on the show that the two have been married for a year.

Viewers of the show were quick to express their opinion of the latest love triangle on Twitter, as well as complain about the lack of a new and more original storyline.

Did you tune into "Love & Hip Hop New York" for the season premiere? Is it as entertaining as "Love & Hip Hop Atlanta?" or is it too scripted this season?
