UPDATE 11:50 p.m. EST: One of the victims has been described as a 14-year-old boy, according to KRQE. The teen was airlifted to a hospital in Lubbock, Texas, the stations said.

UPDATE 11:35 a.m. EST: Police now say that at least two children were treated for injuries after the shooting at Berrendo Middle School, the Associated Press reports.

A suspect has been taken into custody following a shooting at Berrendo Middle School in Roswell, N.M., early Tuesday morning. At least one victim in the shooting has been taken to a local hospital.

Albuquerque ABC affiliate KOAT said the school had been locked down. Police said parents of children attending Berrendo Middle School will be able to pick their kids up.
