Rumors are going around that OnePlus is planning on announcing the OnePlus 5T next month. Now, an official-looking teaser image of the OnePlus 5T has been shared online, adding credence to these rumors.

The teaser image of the OnePlus 5T was shared by Android Authority, which claims to have acquired the image from “a trusted source.” The image doesn’t show the entire handset, but it does seemingly confirm that the OnePlus 5T will come with very thin bezels and a tall display.

The image predominantly shows the lower left corner of the OnePlus 5T. The handset’s display is showing a new wallpaper with OnePlus’s “Never Settle” motto up front. The display on the OnePlus 5T appears to be bigger when compared to the OnePlus 5 and the bottom bezel appears to be quite thin. The display also seems to have an edge-to-edge design, giving the handset a “bezel-less” look.

The teaser image also shows that the OnePlus 5T will still have a bottom-firing speaker, but the photo doesn’t show if it will have dual stereo speakers. The image also blacks out the portion of the smartphone where the USB Type-C port is supposed to be located.

This OnePlus 5T photo doesn’t seem to show a front-facing home button/fingerprint sensor. A previously leaked render of the handset showed that the OnePlus 5T will have a circular rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. OnePlus smartphones have always had their fingerprint sensors up front just below the display and the OnePlus 5T would be deviating from that old design.

The teaser image of the OnePlus 5T also seems to show that the handset will still come with an aluminum frame. It’s possible that the upcoming smartphone will be using the same kind of chassis that the OnePlus 5 has, albeit bigger to accommodate the larger display and possibly a larger battery.

It remains uncertain if the OnePlus 5T will have a glass back, which is becoming more common on other flagship handsets. A glass back will make it possible for the OnePlus 5T to support wireless charging, a feature that is now being embraced by Apple on the iPhone 8 and the upcoming iPhone X. None of the previously released OnePlus smartphones support wireless charging due to all of them having metal backs.

OnePlus could jump in with the wireless charging craze for the 5T, but that would seem reductive. The Chinese phone maker is known for its blazing fast Dash Charge fast-charging solution and wireless charging tends to be a lot slower. It seems more likely that the OnePlus 5T will skip on wireless charging.

The OnePlus 5T is expected to come with a 6-inch 2,160 x 1,080 display with an aspect ratio of 18:9. This is the same aspect ratio on the LG G6, LG V30 and the Google Pixel 2 XL. However, the image that Android Authority shared makes it difficult to see if the display has an 18:9 aspect ratio.

As for internal specs, the OnePlus 5T might simply be a major design change. The upcoming handset is expected to come with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 chipset with 6GB/8GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB of storage. These are the same internals of the OnePlus 5.

The OnePlus 5T is said to make its debut sometime in November, but OnePlus hasn’t made any announcements of a product launch yet.
