A new photo of Adam Lanza was released Wednesday.

The 20-year-old gunman who shot and killed 20 elementary school students and their six teachers at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., on Dec. 14 looks wide-eyed and eerie in the undated ID photo.

The photo was released by Western Connecticut State University in Danbury, where Lanza took classes in 2008 and 2009, NBC News reports.

According to newly released records, in May 2008 Lanza answered “none” when asked if he had a disabling condition before writing a placement exam, according to NBC News. His mother, Nancy, reportedly told people that her son had Asperger’s syndrome.

For the most part, Lanza was a good student. He earned an A and A-minus in two computer science classes and an A-minus in history, USA Today reports. He got a C in the philosophy class “Introduction to Ethical Theory.”

On March 28 search warrants were released containing evidence recovered from Lanza’s home. An arsenal of weapons including assault rifles, samurai swords and hundreds of rounds of ammunition were found.
