New PS4 Bundle Comes With 'Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection'

Sony has announced that a new PlayStation 4 bundle will be released in October and will come with “Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection.” Made to celebrate the adventures of the “Uncharted” protagonist, the bundle will give new PS4 buyers the first three games in the series as well as a standard 500 GB PlayStation 4 console.

The PlayStation Blog stated that the digital versions of the first three “Uncharted” games will feature remastered graphics, new game modes and some gameplay refinements that will make gameplay smoother than it was on the PS3. These enhanced versions will also come with the ever popular Photo Mode, which lets players capture screenshots of epic moments that happen during gameplay.

Like the physical copy of the “Nathan Drake Collection,” the three games’ multiplayer modes will not be available for use, as confirmed by GameSpot. However, those who pick up the collection will gain exclusive access to the multiplayer beta of “Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End.” Fans who get the PS4 bundle will also have access to the beta test.

For those unaware, the first three games in the series are “Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune,” “Uncharted 2: Among Thieves” and “Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception.” All three games were developed by Naughty Dog and gained critical acclaim from fans and critics alike, with many pointing to the game’s action-packed set pieces and well-developed characters as contributing factors to the series’ success.

“Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End” looks to continue the trend of its predecessors by featuring a story that involves an unlikely reunion between Drake and his brother Sam. The previous game’s continuity has not been ignored either, as Drake had retired and finally married long-time love interest Elena Fisher.

The game’s subtitle “A Thief’s End” hints that this may be the last “Uncharted” game, though nothing has been confirmed yet. If proven true, fans can relive Drake’s greatest adventure by picking up the PS4 bundle with the “Nathan Drake Collection” in most retail stores on Oct. 9 for the price of $399.99. The physical copy of this “Uncharted” collection will also be available on the same date, while “Uncharted 4” comes out in March 2016.
