Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York begins Feb. 9 and no longer is it a spectacle solely for fashion magazine editors and prospective buyers within the industry.

Fashion Week, which serves as an outlet and trade show for brands to showcase their collections for potential buyers, has gained some mainstream, mass appeal, prompting many designers to live stream their runway shows online. Thanks to films like The Devil Wears Prada and The September Issue documenting how the September issue of Vogue is compiled, interest in the four city - Paris, New York, Milan and London -- Fashion Week has broadened its scope, extending coverage to consumer and mass audiences rather than just for the media.

A new tradition that gained steam in September for the Spring 2012 collections when a handful of designers used YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Livestream, Tumblr and Instagram to live stream the showing of their collections online.

This year for the Fall 2012 collections, nearly one-third of designers will be streaming their shows online. YouTube and Maybelline New York have partnered with Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week to bring the front-row experience to fashion fans around the world with shows from Lincoln Center streamed on YouTube's Live from the Runway channel. Coverage will not only include live video feed from the runway but also interviews, backstage footage and how-to videos.

Here is a list of designers live streaming their Fall 2012 collections on YouTube during the New York Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. Also, check out exclusive coverage direct from the runways at New York Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week from the International Business Times on IBTimes Fashion & Life Facebook and IBTimes Fashion & Life Twitter pages beginning Feb. 9.
