The New York Rangers have a chance to even up their series against the Boston Bruins Sunday at TD Garden in Game Two of the Eastern Conference semifinals.

Bruins left wing Brad Marchand lifted his team with the game-winning goal with 4:20 remaining in overtime in Boston’s 3-2 Game One victory. Marchand led Boston with 18 goals and 36 points in the regular season, and finally broke through for his first goal of the playoffs.

Center David Krejci also recorded an assist on Zdeno Chara’s goal in the second period. Krejci now has 14 points in the postseason, tied with Pittsburgh’s Evgeni Malkin for the lead.

The Rangers are now 0-3 in games decided by overtime in the postseason. By comparison, New York lost four times in overtime during the shortened regular season.

New York held a 2-1 lead early in the third period in Game One after Derek Stepan scored his third goal of the playoffs, but Boston’s Torey Krug evened things up two minutes later with a power play goal.

Both teams struggled to score in the third period, but the Rangers surrendered two penalties that Boston failed to convert to scores.

New York also had trouble controlling the puck late, with 17 giveaways to Boston’s four.

The team’s second leading scorer in the regular season with 21 goals and 21 assists, Rangers left wing Rick Nash extended his scoreless streak to eight games in these playoffs. Counting the regular season, Nash has scored twice in his last 12 games.

Despite the letdown, Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist has maintained the second best save percentage in the playoffs at .945.

New York’s defense could get some much needed relief Sunday. Defender Marc Staal resumed skating Friday after suffering an eye injury in the first round against Washington.

Boston may also welcome defensemen Dennis Seidenberg, Wade Redden, and Andrew Ference, who all missed Game One with minor injuries

The puck drops at 3 p.m. Eastern and will be broadcast by NBC, or watching their live online stream at NBC Live Extra here.
