Business confidence in New Zealand increased significantly in April, with the balance rising to minus 14.5 from minus 39.3 in March, a monthly survey from the National Bank showed Wednesday.

The survey showed that a net 3.8% of companies expect their own business to decline over the next 12 months compared to minus 21.1% in the previous survey.

Moreover, other indicators including investment intentions, profits and exports all showed improvements over the previous survey.
