RTTNews - Credit card spending in New Zealand decreased in June.

Statistics NZ reported Thursday that total electronic card transactions for the month were down 0.4 percent compared to May.

Credit card transactions for the retail industries were down 1.0 percent on month.

Electronic card spending for core retail industries, which exclude motor vehicle related expenses, were down 1.2 percent.

Credit card spending on core retail was up 1.1 percent in May.

Compared to one year earlier, the unadjusted value of transactions for core retail industries was up 3.6 percent in June.
