MTV released a statement to E! News to express their sadness over Adler’s shocking demise. “We are saddened by the news of Clay Adler’s passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends at this time,” it read.

Meanwhile, Adler’s good friend, Jennifer Lawrence, is reportedly saddened over the recent reports of the actor’s passing. A source close to “The Hunger Games” actress said that Lawrence is heartbroken because Adler brings her back to her humble beginnings. “It’s really sad because she remembers him fondly and never wants to hear anything like this happen to anyone, especially to someone she once knew very well. It’s a shame, and she’s really bummed about it,” the source said.

Lawrence and Adler are very close to each other and even attended the Movie Guide Awards in 2007. At the time, the latter was still starring in MTV’s “Newport Harbor: The Real Orange County.” Lawrence, on the other hand, just appeared in “Not Another High School Show” in the same year.
