Panasonic Corp., the world's largest consumer-electronics maker, announced on Wednesday that it will cut about 15,000 jobs and says it expects to post its first loss in six years amid a global economic slump.
Japan's Prime Minister has joined the European Union, Canada and President Obama in criticizing possible protectionist trade policies on American goods being discussed as part of the U.S. economic stimulus plan. (Feb 4, 09)
