The lives of 32 men were changed forever Thursday night when they were taken in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft. Being selected on the first day of the draft means they will go on to sign contracts worth millions of dollars, though some will make significantly more than others.

Myles Garrett, the No.1 overall pick, is projected to make more than $20 million in guaranteed salary over the course of his four-year rookie contract, while No.2 pick Mitchell Trubisky isn’t far behind him. The North Carolina quarterback will sign a deal that could be worth more than $29 million, and he might have made close to $1 million more because of the Chicago Bears' draft day trade.

The Bears swapped picks with the San Francisco 49ers, moving up from No.3 to No.2 overall. Had Chicago stayed at No.3 and taken Trubisky, the quarterback’s contract likely would have been worth just north of $28 million.

The two other quarterbacks drafted won’t be guaranteed nearly as much money as Trubisky. The UNC product will likely get a signing bonus of more than $19 million, while No.10 Patrick Mahomes is expected to get around $10 million guaranteed. Deshaun Watson, who had far more success in college than either quarterback, will probably get close to $8 million guaranteed as the No.12 overall pick of the Houston Texans.

As the No.1 overall selection in the 2016 draft, Jared Goff signed a four-year deal worth $27,937,673 with an $18,518,308 signing bonus. His base salary as a rookie was $450,000 with a cap hit of just more than $5 million.

Rookie salaries will be determined by the 2017 salary cap and the rookie pool. The CBA limits what players can earn in their first contracts and salaries can’t increase by more than 25 percent, based on what players drafted with the same pick the previous year made. As the No.1 pick a season ago, Goff’s deal is worth 10.2 percent more than the contract Jameis Winston signed as the top pick in 2015.

Let’s take a look at the estimated contract of every first-round pick, based on projections by Spotrac. The first number listed is the total worth of the deal over four years, and the second figure is the player’s signing bonus.
