The Chicago Bears have agreed to trade defensive end Jared Allen to the Carolina Panthers, according to Jay Glazer of Fox Sports. Chicago reportedly gets a sixth-round draft pick in return.

Allen is in his 12th NFL season, and the Panthers will be the fourth different team he’s played for. The veteran had at least 11 sacks in each season from 2007-2013, but he’s still looking for his first sack this year. He recorded 5.5 sacks and 55 tackles in 15 games last season.

Allen is owed $16.5 million total in the next two seasons. Chicago makes the trade with little chance of making the playoffs after a 0-3 start. Carolina is unbeaten this season.
