Nick Carter’s rape accuser, Melissa Schuman, has forgiven the Backstreet Boys member.

In the sneak peek released from Friday’s episode of “The Dr. Oz Show,” the 33-year-old is asked to share her message for Carter, who she accused of raping her when she was just 18 years old.

“I forgive you… I don’t want anything from you. I wish you only the best. I don’t want your money. I didn’t do this to hurt you or your family. I did this for me because I needed this healing and I also came forward because I want to inspire other people who have been assaulted to come forward and know that they have a voice,” she says.

Earlier this month, the former of the all-girl group, Dream, detailed the alleged incident on her blog. According to her, Carter brought her to the bathroom and performed oral sex on her. Carter, who was 22 at that time, asked Schuman to perform oral sex on him as well. The incident continued in Carter’s bedroom, where he allegedly raped Schuman.

Days after sharing her story, Carter denied Schuman’s allegations via a statement to People.

“I am shocked and saddened by Ms. Schuman’s accusations. Melissa never expressed to me while we were together or at any time since that anything we did was not consensual. We went on to record a song and perform together, and I was always respectful and supportive of Melissa both personally and professionally,” he said.

Carter went on to say that he just heard about Schuman’s version of the story for the first time recently despite it happening almost two decades ago. “It is contrary to my nature and everything I hold dear to intentionally cause someone discomfort or harm,” he concluded.

Schuman also released a statement to the same publication and said that her main goal for coming forward was to inspire other women. “To those who have shared their stories with me, I see you. I believe you. I stand with you,” she said.
