MTV’s “Sweet/Vicious” is back after taking a short hiatus. Season 1 of the scripted, offbeat superhero show returns Tuesday to continue following new friends Jules and Ophelia as they try and take down people who have been accused of sexual assault on their college campus.

While the guys Jules (Eliza Bennett) and her sidekick Ophelia (Taylor Dearden) go after are considered the “bad guys,” not all the men in their lives deserve to have their butts kicked. International Business Times has some exclusive photos of Tuesday’s episode 6, titled “Fearless,” and recently caught up with one of the male stars on the show, Nick Fink, to talk about the groundbreaking MTV series and his character Tyler.

Fink, who’s appeared in shows such as “Glee” and “The Mentalist,” told IBT that he was excited to join the cast of “Sweet/Vicious” because it tackles so many important issues. “It’s apparent that this show was made with an incredible amount of respect and care and research,” Fink said. “Our team of writers, and our creator and showrunner wanted to tell this story in the most honest and real way possible and they balanced it out with humor somehow and these action scenes. It just really works.”

On the series Fink plays Tyler, an art major and love interest of Jules. Although Fink told IBT he’s rooting for things to work out for “Jyler,” there are more than a few issues that could get in the way of their budding relationship. In the series premiere, Jules and Ophelia unintentionally murdered Carter (Daniel Fissmer), who is Tyler’s step-brother. Obviously, Tyler has no idea the girl of dreams murdered his family member.

Despite the major secret Jules is keeping, Fink said things will continue to move forward for Jyler. “He is getting more suspicious about Carter’s whereabouts and what he’s really up to, but the last thing that [Tyler’s] thinking is that Jules has anything to do with it,” Fink explained, adding that Tyler and Jules are “really great for each other.” “I hope nothing gets in the way,” he said.

While it’s unclear where things will end up for Tyler and Jules, Fink said he enjoyed portraying the character on the show. “Tyler is just a great guy and he has a really great moral compass and I think he has a lot of respect for people and to show our audience that guy next to all the other guys that are on the show was really important,” he said. “To be able to take that on and take responsibility of that was a challenge I was totally happy and willing to take.”

Fink also revealed a fun fact, telling IBT that as a result of playing the lovable Tyler he’s taken an interest in art. A quick glance at Fink’s Instagram page shows just how talented he is. According to the actor, he loves doing portraitures. “I ended up getting really into art because of [Tyler] to try and connect to him more and to get to know him better,” Fink said. “And now it’s a huge passion of mine and I’m drawing and painting all the time and it’s wonderful. It’s been a lot of fun.”

In addition to trying to win the heart of Jules and figure out what happened to Carter on “Sweet/Vicious,” Fink is gearing up for a few more cool projects. In early 2017, the actor can be seen playing Scott in the film “The Great & The Small.” In it, Fink’s character is living on the streets but decides to give life a try for the first time and realizes that the world isn’t against him. “It’s a really cool film with a wonderful cast,” he said. “I’m really excited for people to see it and see a different side of me as well.”

Fink will also return for Season 2 of the thriller web series “T@gged,” where he plays a character named Jake.

Be sure to check out Fink in episode 6 of “Sweet/Vicious,” airing Tuesday at 10 p.m. EST on MTV.
