Nicole Kidman finally explained what went through her head when she kissed her “Big Little Lies” co-star, Alexander Skarsgard, on the lips while at last month’s Emmys.

During her appearance on “The Graham Norton Show” the 50-year-old actress was shown a photo of her smooch with Skarsgard that made headlines in September. After all, Kidman kissed Skarsgard while her husband, Keith Urban, stood beside her.

“I did kiss Skarsgard, but you gotta understand, I did everything with Alex. I’ve got an amazing, supportive husband who I love more than anything in the world, and I gave Alex a congratulatory kiss, and he’s like a mannequin… I mean, not a mannequin… I’m done,” she said with a laugh.

Skarsgard won an Emmy for outstanding supporting actor in a limited series or a movie. When Kidman kissed him on the lips, it was obvious that he was a bit surprised. The co-stars play the role of a married couple in the hit HBO limited TV series. Kidman’s Celeste was physically, mentally and sexually abused by Skarsgard’s character, Perry.

Meanwhile, it is still unclear whether or not “Big Little Lies” will be renewed for a second season. The highly-acclaimed limited series bagged multiple awards at the Emmys. However, a Season 2 renewal hasn’t been announced because book author Liane Moriarty is still working on possible storylines for the show.

In July, Kidman spoke told Entertainment Tonight that there are a lot of ideas being thrown around for “Big Little Lies” Season 2. However, “it’s very up in the air,” she said. At that time, Kidman also weighed in on director Jean-Marc Vallee’s comments about not wanting a second season for the series.

While speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, the director said, “If there’s an opportunity to reunite with Reese, Nicole and all these characters of course, I’ll be a part of it, but ‘Big Little Lies’ is a one-time deal. ‘Big Little Lies’ two? Nah.”

Kidman acknowledged the fact that Vallee has a very strong sense of what he wants. “He directed all of the episodes, which is phenomenal. There’s a massive undertaking so he knows us so well. We’ll see,” she said.
