Almost two weeks since the Season 6 finale of “The Vampire Diaries” aired, fans are still emotional over Nina Dobrev’s exit from the popular teen vampire drama. But making her departure even more touching was Dobrev’s recent gift to the CW network show's fans: her May 14 posting of six years' worth of photos of the "TVD" cast and crew.

Hours before the Season 6 finale aired, the Bulgarian-born Dobrev took to Instagram to post the throwback photos. According to Christian Today, the 26-year-old actress uploaded several pictures via her Instagram account, starting with a photo of her and Paul Wesley with a caption: "In honor of my final episode of TVD tonight, and because it's Thursday … I'll be posting a Throwback photo every hour on the hour. It's been 6 amazing years … there have been a million great memories. Thank you to everyone who has joined me on this incredible journey. I love you all."

She next uploaded a collage of pictures taken during Season 1 featuring herself, Ian Somerhalder and Candice Accola, captioned, "Tonight is the end for me so I'm taking you back to the beginning. … Season 1."

More pictures of the cast and crew were posted after that, including a touching fan art and fan mail that she received, taking that opportunity to thank her fans for all the “love and positivity” that they gave her over six years with the show.

Dobrev also shared pictures during the surprise farewell party that the “TVD” cast and crew planned, which showed her and everyone all covered in cake and icing. This was a prank that the cast and crew played on Dobrev during her last day of shooting with Somerhalder, People reported. Apparently, Dobrev was a prankster and, during her six years with the series, was mostly successful in scaring or throwing a pie in the face of anyone who celebrated a birthday or their last day. This was the cast and crew’s way of getting back at her for all those face-pies.

Meanwhile, Dobrev has admitted that she’s going to miss being on “The Vampire Diaries.” In the June issue of Self magazine, the actress revealed how she loved working on the show, saying, “It’s been such a crazy, awesome adventure, and I’ve been surrounded by so many people who I consider family. I know this is a new exciting step in the right direction for me, but it’s going to be so strange not to be with them.”
