Nintendo has finally broken its silence about its highly anticipated Nintendo NX console. The Japanese electronics, software and video games company has taken to Twitter to announce the good news to expectant fans worldwide.

On Wednesday, Nintendo of America reportedly shocked everyone with its announcement that the company’s fabled NX is going to be featured in a preview trailer. What’s even more exciting about Nintendo’s update is the fact that the trailer is slated for release this Thursday, Oct. 20.

“Be among the first to discover #NX. Watch the Preview Trailer at 7 a.m. PT/10 a.m. ET!,” Nintendo of America tweeted just an hour and a couple of minutes ago, alongside an image of the company’s famous mascot, Super Mario.

Although Nintendo did state in its tweet that the console is called the NX, DualShockers is still wondering if the console would really go by that name. After all, nothing is officially known about the device yet.

The tweet comes just a day after unnamed sources relayed to Express that the Japanese company is actually making its big announcement about the console this Friday, Oct. 21.

Macquarie Group also alluded to the same idea that Nintendo could be announcing the NX this Friday. It was also previously reported that the demo units of the mysterious console is arriving in February 2017, just a month prior its official release.

Rumors that Nintendo is announcing the NX on Oct. 21 started when gamers and review sites noticed that a Nintendo Direct event is scheduled on the said day and that the date marks the fifth year anniversary of the popular broadcast.

Last year, Nintendo did not hold a Nintendo Direct event due to the demise of the company’s president, Satoru Iwata. Therefore, Nintendo is expected to go all out this year by announcing its new console at the event.
