Right now, Nintendo is holding a Nintendo Direct event. Sarotu Iwata, CEO of Nintendo, is currently unveiling Nintendo's 3DS and Wii U plans for this summer. To this point, Iwata has detailed plans for "New Super Mario Bros U" DLC and recapped the company's plans for releases of "Resident Evil: Revelations," "Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D," "Animal Crossing" and more.
We find Nintendo's timing for this event interesting considering Microsoft is holding an Xbox event in only a few days, on Tuesday, May 21. This could be a strategic move in an attempt to take some wind out of the sails of one of Nintendo's major rivals in the ongoing console wars.
