Nissan Motor Co. said Tuesday that it will shift some production of its Dualis sport utility vehicle from Japan to the U.K by the end of the year, Japanese daily Nikkei said Tuesday.

Nissan will import the vehicle's main parts from the U.K. to an assembly plant in Kyushu, with the aim of producing more than 20,000 vehicles per year. The U.K.'s factory will continue to produce vehicles for sales outside Japan.

The Dualis was originally designed for drivers in Europe under the name Qashquai. However imported versions of the car have been selling well, the report stated.
