The announcement of 'Brangelina' wedding bells were just more noise according to the mayor of Correns in France where the star couple were rumored to marry, People magazine reported.

There are no plans for them to marry that I know of- and I would know, said Mayor Michael Latz.

According to Latz the rumor resurfaces annually in what he believes an attempt for the American Media to sell a few more pounds of paper.

Just a few days ago the Brangelina couple were subject of rumors that the News of the World had hacked the couples phones during Pitt's break up with Jenifer Aniston.

As those rumors fizzled out stories of a wedding in the South of France emerged saying it was prompted by the gay marriage legislation in New York. Apparently Pitt had once stated that the coupled would only get married only when everyone could, including gays and lesbians.

Although Brangelina wedding rumors circulate regularly, the US Weekly swore the rumors were true saying three separate sources had confirmed it. Pitt himself also helped to stir up some gossip when he told USA today that marriage was becoming increasingly important to the kids.

Forbes Blogger Kiri Blakey states several reasons why the couple should not officially elope. Pitt dated Gwyneth Paltrow for three years and then called it off almost as soon as they got engaged. He then married Jennifer Aniston in 2000. I'm not sure how that one turned out. (Sarcasm!),Blakey commented

She added that Jolie also left two blink-of-an-eye marriages I imagine it's more important to the kids that they have two parents who are committed to each other than that those parents be betrothed. Marriage has a bit of a tendency to wreck Tinsel town relationships, she said.
