RTTNews - There will be no more stimulus packages, said the Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia, reports PTI. He said that the industry was provided adequate stimuli to overcome economic slowdown and that the country's focus should be on implementation of the ongoing schemes.

Ahluwalia also said that Indian government reduced excise duty by 6% and service tax by 2% in the thrice. In addition, the fourth stimulus came in the budget 2009-10. He said that the budget included providing boost, plan expenditure and investment; as such, there would be no need for introducing any more stimulus packages.

About the monsoon, he said that the though there was shortage in the rainfall, the situation improved this month, and people would have to wait till the month-end to have a clear picture of the impact of the delayed monsoon.
