HMD Global has officially launched the 4G-compatible Nokia 3310. The Nokia 3310 4G is now listed on the Chinese Nokia website and will be available in retail stores in the country in “early February.”

The Nokia 3310 4G is mostly the same as the 2G and 3G version of the 3310. The phone still features the same design, so users will still get the 2.4-inch 320 x 240 screen and the 256MB/512MB storage. There’s also a microSD card slot that supports up to 64GB of expanded storage and the same 2-megapixel camera on the back.

The biggest change here is that this new version of the Nokia 3310 has support for 4G LTE with VoLTE HD (voice over LTE). This type of network connection allows users to turn the device into a portable Wi-Fi hotspot and share internet connection with other devices, as pointed out by Phone Arena. As for battery life, Nokia claims the removable 1,200 mAh battery can deliver up to 15 hours of talk time on 2G, 8 hours on 3G and 5 hours on 4G VoLTE. The Nokia 3310 4G is also the very first Nokia feature phone from the company to support 4G LTE connectivity.

Another thing that’s different in the Nokia 3310 4G is the operating system that’s running the phone. Unlike the 2G and 3G versions, the Nokia 3310 4G runs YunOS instead of Feature OS or s30+. YunOS is based on the Android open Source Project and this means the Nokia 3310 4G will be able to run some apps made for Android phones, according to Android Authority.

That said, users shouldn’t expect any big apps to appear in the Nokia 3310 4G. It’s very likely that the phone will simply be preloaded with some supported apps since there’s still no word on whether the device will come with the YunOS app store, as pointed out by GSM Arena.

HMD didn’t give out pricing information or an exact release date for the Nokia 3310 4G, but China will be the first country to get it next month. The 3G version of the 3310 was launched with a $60 price tag. The device is also expected to be released worldwide, including the United States, sometime in late February or in early March. HMD Global may give out additional information on pricing and availability during MWC 2018 in Barcelona next month.
