Northgate Minerals Corp. said Wednesday it now estimates that its gold mine in Ontario, Canada, could yield an additional 1 million ounces of resources from the company's 2011 drilling program.

An analysis of recent drilling in Northgate's 11,000-acre Young-Davidson project said four diamond drill holes revealed a new indicated and inferred rsource estimate of 536,000 and 53,000 ounces, respectively.

Combined with the nearly 600,000 ounces recently reported from drilling in another part of the property means the Vancouver-based company's exploration program at Young-Davidson continues to yield exceptional results, said CEO Richard Hall.
