Friday, the Statistics Norway said in a report industrial production dropped a working day adjusted 1.6% year-on-year in March, after increasing 2.5% in February.

Month-on-month, industrial production fell a seasonally adjusted 2.7% in March, following a 2.2% rise in the preceding month.

In the first quarter, industrial output grew 0.1% compared to the same period last year.

Manufacturing output dropped 2.8% year-on-year and 0.6% on a monthly basis in March. In the first quarter, manufacturing output was down 4% from last year.

Industrial turnover slipped 2% in March from the previous year, with manufacturing turnover declining 12.3%. In the first quarter, the industrial turnover was down 6%.

Meanwhile, new orders in the manufacturing sector dipped 19.3% year-on-year in the first quarter.
