RTTNews - The number of Norwegian business leaders expecting their companies' profitability to increase over the next 12 months increased in the second quarter compared to the first quarter, results of a quarterly survey carried out by the Perduco for the Norges Bank showed Tuesday.

The profitability index, which is the difference between those who expect improved profitability and weaker profitability, rose to 1.6 points in the second quarter from a reading of minus 23.3 points in the first quarter.

With regard to profitability in the past 12 months, more business managers than in the first quarter survey said it was down.

The survey found expectations of wage growth in 2009 decreased in the second quarter.
