NEW DELHI: India s largest power utility, National Thermal Power Corporation Ltd (NTPC) has envisaged to generate 209000 MUs of Electricity in the financial year 2008 09.

A Power Ministry release said a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed in this regard between the government and NTPC on Tuesday.

The MoU includes targets of important milestones related to ongoing projects of NTPC Limited namely Sipat I (3X660 MW) , Barh (3X660 MW), Korba III (1X500 MW), Simhadri II (2X500 MW), Dadri II (2X490 MW), Farakka III (1X500 MW), Koldam HEPP (4X200 MW) , Lohari nag Pala HEPP (4X150 MW) and Tapovan Vishnugad HEPP (4X130 MW) and targets for coal mining activities.

In addition, targets relating to Total Quality Management, Human Resource Development, Business Development Activities (including activities of Gas Exploration, Distributed Generation, R R, ERP and subsidiaries of NTPC i.e. NVVN, NESCL, NHL, Vaishali Power), R D and Energy Technology, Project Management Certification, Ash Utilization and Environment measures are also part of MoU (2008 09), it said.

Fuelled by vision to be a world class integrated power major, powering India s growth, with increasing global presence, NTPC plans to be a 75000 MW plus company by 2017.
