FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - Business conditions for manufacturers in the NY area have improved sharply in January, according to the New York Fed manufacturing Index, which has soared to 15.95 points in January from 4.50 in December, beating expert's expectations of an increase to a level around 11.4.

All the sub-indexes have posted sharp increases in January, with the New Orders Index up to 20.48 in January from 2.77 in December, and the employment index increasing to 4.00 from -5.26 in December

The prices paid index rose to index up to 32.00 from 19.74 in December, while the prices receives index increased to 2.67 from -9.21 in December.
