The New Zealand dollar dropped to a 6-day low of 1.2439 against the Australian dollar on Wednesday morning in Asia, compared to yesterday's close of 1.2365. The aussie-kiwi pair is presently trading at 1.2433 with 1.252 seen as the next target level.

Latest survey by Westpac Banking Corp. and McDermott Miller Ltd. released today showed that New Zealand's consumer confidence index fell to 96.0 in the first quarter from 101.3 in the fourth quarter.
