A German broadcast journalist stood barefoot on her desk and reenacted Robin Williams' famous scene in “Dead Poets Society” during the evening news on Tuesday, a day after Williams was found dead in his home. The segment featuring journalist Caren Miosga aired live on Germany’s Tagesschau news network and focused on one of Williams' many memorable characters.

In “Dead Poets Society,” Williams plays poet John Keating, an English professor at an all-boys high school. Keating inspires the boys through poetry to break the rules and “seize the day.” "I stand upon my desk to remind myself that we must constantly look at things in a different way,” Williams' character said to his students. “You all look very different from up here.” He then invites his students to stand up and see for themselves.

“Just when you think you know something, you have to look at it in another way," he said. "Even though it may seem silly or wrong, you must try!”

Williams’ personal assistant found him in his home with wounds on his wrist and a belt around his neck. His death was a suicide, authorities confirmed.
